You have a

story to tell…

Whether it’s a compelling piece of fiction,

a memoir that will teach, heal, and inspire readers,

a big idea that could change the way we live,

or some unique combination of the above…

You are ready

to tell it

But if you’re here,

looking to hire an experienced ghostwriter,

you know that having a story to tell…

is only half the battle.

Every book

has two stories

One lives in it’s pages.

It’s there for anyone to read.

As the author, it’s yours, and you know it intimately.

But a book’s second story is invisible.

It’s a story of outlines and edits.

Of grammar and structure.

Of hours of research and many more hours spent looking off into the distance, thinking.

It is a tale of tools and of the craftsmanship required to wield them like a professional.

Writing a book means taking on

both those stories at once.

Let’s do that

together

I’m Benny, your ghostwriter.

You know the story that you want to tell.

And I have the tools to build your book from the ground up.

Over years of working as a professional ghostwriter, I’ve helped international athletes who’ve redefined their sport, Emmy-Award-winning filmmakers, politicians, soldiers, world travelers, and authors from all walks of life craft books out of their stories, all with the utmost discretion.

It’s what I do.

If you don’t have the months of time, the command of a literary voice honed over a lifetime of writing, and the necessary tools to not only share your story but to live the long and difficult adventure of building a book piece by piece, you’ve come to the right place.

I will guide your book

into being

From here on out, you can leave the details of construction to me.

All I ask you to keep in mind is the following…

This is your book

And I want to keep it that way.

That’s why my ghostwriting practice is a truly bespoke,

completely discrete, intimately one-on-one operation.

That means…

  1. I remain invisible. I never share my involvement in an author’s work, ever. Not on this website, nor in samples to future clients.

And, more importantly…

2. My process is centered around you—your story, your ideas, your vision.

I guarantee that by the end of our time together, you’ll have the book you want, the book that feels truest to you, the book that has grown organically into the best version of itself no matter what it takes.

You are the author. I am simply the unseen hand that will give your story the form it deserves.

So, what if I told you…

Your book

is just one phone call

away

Here’s how it works.

A call is all we need to get started. It’s the first of three steps we’ll take together on our journey to turn your idea into a book.

Click on each of the following to see how we’ll move through the process of taking a rough idea and turning it into a polished manuscript.

  • No matter how developed your story is right now—if it’s a raw manuscript hundreds of pages long or just the threads of an idea floating around in your head—I want to hear you tell it. Just fill out the form below and we’ll set up our first phone call.

I’ll get in touch with you and we’ll talk about your book for about an hour at no cost to you. Consider it a free consultation.

If we’re a good fit, we can move on to...

  • A week after our call, I’ll send you a professional assessment of your book idea. In the industry, we call this an Analysis & Recommendations document (an A&R for short).

The A&R is a blueprint for your book-to-be. It will show you how things like structure, voice, and storytelling mechanics can best be applied to the ideas we discussed on our call and to any material you’ve sent over. This is how we’ll transform what you have now into a book you’ll be proud to see in readers’ hands.

Along with concrete, actionable recommendations, I’ll include specific examples that illustrate how I would bring said recommendations to life on the page. These won’t be cookie-cutter, catch-all suggestions. They won’t be samples of how I would write just anybody’s book. They will be tailor-made to your ideas, your goals, your story.

With the A&R in hand, you’ll know if we’re a good creative match before committing large amounts of time and money to our project. Whether we end up working together or not, this document will be yours to keep and do with as you wish. I do this for a living because I believe the world is a better place with more well-written books in it.

  • Here’s where the invisible story behind your book gets told.

Right now, the specifics of what that will look like remain a mystery to us both. Every project I’ve ever worked on has been different, singular, unique. Until we have our blueprint, it’s impossible to know what shape the story of building your book will take.

My ghostwriting service is—and always will be—a small-batch, made-to-order, custom operation. You, the author, will be what gives our time together its form and meaning.

    This is your story.

Let’s tell your story

together

Step 1: The Call

No matter how developed your story is right now—if it’s a raw manuscript hundreds of pages long or just the threads of an idea floating around in your head—just tell me a little about yourself and we’ll set up a call.

I’ll get in touch with you and we’ll talk about your book for roughly an hour at no cost to you. Consider it a free consultation.

Taking the first step is that easy.

About me

My name’s Benny Incandenza and I write books for a living. Mostly, these take the form of memoirs, novels, big idea books, and even the odd screenplay. Regardless of the genre or format your story takes, if it’s unique and compelling I want to help you turn it into a book you’re proud to publish. I’ve helped artists, athletes, entrepreneurs, politicians and more do just that.

In one way or another, this has always been my vocation. Long before I became a ghostwriter, I was helping people share their stories in the most honest and artful ways possible. Whether it was guiding students to find their voice while teaching poetry workshops at UC Berkeley, working as an international arts and culture journalist, or counseling guests to reframe their traumas and inner dialogs at a holistic treatment center in the Amazon Rainforest, for as long as I can remember I’ve been weaving narrative and form into the stories that spool out of a life.

Storytelling is the oldest technology we possess. I believe it might also be the most powerful. From the flickers of the primordial campfire to the ubiquitous glow of today’s screens, we’ve used stories to shed light on the mysteries and wonders of our world and of our selves. They hold the unique power to connect us to our past, our present, our future, and, most importantly, to each other. Thus, I don’t take the responsibility of helping someone tell their story—and tell it well—lightly. Every human being I’ve ever worked with—no, every human being on the planet—carries within them a story that if told in all its depth and vibrance could fill library after library. For me, nothing is as rewarding as the challenge of sculpting that beautiful complexity into books my authors feel do them justice.

I’ve put pen to paper, finger to keyboard, and bolt of sudden inspiration to crumpled-up napkin while living in big cities, small towns, and little villages all over the world. From the cobble-stone streets of Prague to the sidewalk cafes of Buenos Aires, from small villages in the Amazon to the urban jungles of London and New York City, I’ve honed both my craft as a writer and my curiosity as a student of the human tapestry. To every project I take on I bring a journalist’s finger-on-the-pulse awareness of what’s current, a beginner’s mindset cultivated by adapting to many diverse cultures, a poet’s out-of-the-box thinking, and an expert writer’s understanding of form, structure, and craft—all filtered through a truly global lens.

Currently, you can find me writing or walking in Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, or the mountains just above Cusco.
